Joelle Grunberg

Joelle Grunberg

Joelle graduated in 1993 from ESSEC MBA in France, and started her career in audit and then transaction services at Ernst and Young and then at Deloitte in Paris, where she led efforts in the luxury goods and retail sector. She was also a consultant with Mckinsey & Co. in its Paris office, counseling top management of France top companies.

In 2003 she left consulting to be the CEO of Louis Pion-Royal Quartz, France’s biggest retailer in watch and jewelry with 180 points of sales. She also helped turn around the company and sell it to the Galeries Lafayette group in 2007. In 2010 Celio, the French menswear retail leader, asked her to develop Celio Club, a separate business unit specialized in elevated formal wear and infuse digital in the company through strategic initiatives.

In 2013, Joelle joined Lacoste as CEO of the French business to support the ongoing retailization and elevation of the brand. In 2015 she was promoted to the North American region and left for New York to oversee the challenge of the ever changing market there. The United States is the biggest country for the brand and key for the visibility and desirability of Lacoste. She is now also in charge of overseeing the development of the Central American business.

Since 2019, Joelle is also an independent board director for Ecco USA, a leading footwear brand headquartered in Danemark and developing its business in the U.S.
